Huge congratulations to Grindhouse Killer Burgers, who was named one of the best airport restaurants in the country by Travel & Leisure!

Diesel Filling Station hosted a little event called Zombie Pub Crawl, and it was listed throughout the city including NPR, WSB-TV, Atlanta Magazine, Access Atlanta and more.

Makan was featured in an online and in-print story by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the best al fresco experiences in the city, noting its weekly Korean BBQ.

Zagat rounded-up the best lobster rolls in the city, including Atlantic Seafood Company!

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution praised the brunch at Pijiu Belly for its unique cultural twist of Asian meets bar food.

Congrats to DBA Barbecue, which was named the #2 best ‘cue in the city by Zagat!

Eater Atlanta was celebrating its “Cheap Week” with a variety of stories, including best Cheap Eats in the city, like Grindhouse Killer Burgers.

Another “Cheap Week” story included industry insiders talking about their favorite cheap eats, including Atlantic Seafood Company, DBA Barbecue, Diesel Filling Station, Makan and Vine & Tap.

Who doesn’t love a good hot dog? Thanks to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for including DBA Barbecue’s “DBA Dog” as one of the best dogs in the city.

Canine Cellmates was featured by WSB-TV’s “People 2 People” team, showcasing the organization’s dedication to the dogs and the inmates.

Boozy brunches make weekends all the better. Access Atlanta chatted about their favorite places to get some bubbles in the city, including Republic Social House and Makan for best deals, then special nods to Vine & Tap and DBA Barbecue for distinctive cocktails.

If you’re vegetarian or someone in your group is, don’t miss the veggie “pulled” sandwich at Twain’s made with mushrooms and Vidalia onions, named one of the best vegetarian sandwiches in the city by Zagat.

Best place for a boozy ice treat? Creative Loafing says you should head to DBA Barbecue for their rotating slushie selections.

BACON! Thanks to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for recognizing the Pimento Bacon Deviled Eggs at Twain’s among the best.

PBR and a Beer

I’m a gigantic fan of a PBR and a beer. An ice cold, large can PBR paired with a super delicious, greasy, cheesy, bacon-covered burger. Luckily I have managed to wrangle several clients into becoming my client who are my favorite places to get my favorite meal. Where should you go to satisfy this craving? Here are some suggestions…

DBA Barbecue – sure they’re known for their barbecue and mac ‘n cheese more than anything, but don’t forget they have a mighty delicious burger on their menu. Whether you want to go with the Double Diner boasting two patties and American cheese, or the DBA Burger with pimento cheese, fried onions and cole slaw, you really can’t go wrong.

Diesel Filling Station – ah my home away from home, and the cause of my PBR and burger obsession. This dive-bar separates its menu between hot dogs and burgers and that’s pretty much about it outside of the bar food appetizers. There’s plenty of options for the burger and also sides (the sweet potato tots are heavenly, and don’t forget the chili cheese fries). I go with the Burger of the South – topped with bacon and pimento cheese and Coca-Cola ketchup.

Grindhouse Killer Burgers – perhaps one of the best burgers in the city, Grindhouse is perfect for a burger and a PBR out on their patio. Try the Apache style with green enchiles or the Hillbilly with brisket chili. Oh and always make it a double – always.

Hi-Five Diner – owned by the same guy behind Grindhouse Killer Burgers, the meat is the same style, but it’s not the same burger. Think sesame seed bun with two beef patties and LTO, served with steak fries. Classic and delicious.

Pijiu Belly – believe it or not, this place has one of my favorite burgers in the city. The Asian-meets-bar-food concept offers the Pijiu burger with kimchi, giving it a different flavor, but trust me when I say how juicy this burger is.

Republic Social House – ain’t no better place for rooftop patio drinking and devouring a burger than this place. They keep it simple with the Wimpy Burger, with an Angus beef patty and LTO. No frills here, just a tasty burger.

Twain’s Brewpub & Billiards – chef Savannah takes a normal burger and makes it better with her Southern chef touch. The burger is made with Brasstown Beef, making is a local and farm-fresh burger, then offered in a variety of styles like the Ronald, modeled to taste like a Mickey D’s burger or the Olivia with pimento cheese, green tomato relish and bacon and the Farmstead with Bacon, fried egg, tomato, smoked gouda, herb aioli.

Located in Alpharetta, Atlantic Seafood Company offers the best and freshest seafood options in this high-end yet approachable space. You can enjoy a great selection of sushi rolls, but I definitely recommend the main dining room for some great seafood offerings. Don’t miss the Smoked Old Fashioned either – they found a way to take my favorite cocktail and make it better.

DBA Barbecue

They don’t need an introduction since they’re one of Atlanta’s best barbecue restaurants in the city. So next time you’re craving some ‘cue, make sure you head to this awesome spot in the Highlands. Did you know they recently launched their new Sunday Brunch menu? Stop by sometime for some brisket and eggs!

Rock’s Chicken & Fries

This fast-casual concept in Phipps opened a few months ago and offers delicious, antibiotic-free chicken tenders and hand-cut fries. Grab a quick bite before heading into a movie or over to Legoland, or refuel from your shopping spree with a great meal – and don’t forget the custard.

Twain’s Billiards & Brewpub

One of my favorite bars in the city and now one of my clients! I first fell in love with them when I went to watch hockey, and I’ve been in love since. Stop by and check out their new seasonal menu from Chef Savannah and of course you can’t resist not playing some pool, shooting some darts and more.

Forthcoming concept from Twain’s

It’s not yet named, but Twain’s will be taking over the old Suburban Lanes space to create their own Twain’s-inspired bowling alley. They’ll have a great new menu and options there along with the amazingness of bowling. Stay tuned for updates!
